Gracious Father, we are grateful for the myriad of opportunities that are ours to have meaningful impact on our world. We thank you for those who have through ages past given faithful expression of their faith as African Methodists, so that we can gather today in General Conference 2008. Give us your inspiration to take all that you have endowed us with, to bring past and present together for effective witness in the future.
Grant that we may use all our human abilities of creative gifts and knowledge to "Equip the Saints" present and future, "Empower Your People throughout the world, that the world may be transformed for your glory". AMEN
